(Written for my pastor on his ordination day)

God masterfully chose to save your life—near death in water deep. He breathed into your lungs that day—a sole for him to keep.

He knew your heart would one day feel—the presence of his love. The sacrifice he made for you—was given from above.

You heard his call and said send me—a sinful past redeemed. Then burned the ship and laid to rest—for a journey rarely dreamed.

On this your ordination day—anointed by our Lord. We stand with you in gratefulness—a strong unbroken cord.
